The students will -

CO132: Understand the various drawing tools with effects

CO133: Learn to illustrate the subject into creative way in software. Create compositions with appropriate subjects in software by using various effects and styles.

CO134: Design and create vector illustrations using basic shapes.

CO135: Develop different background designs and shots for storyboarding.

CO136: Develop compositional skills in vector software’s

  • Interface Introduction to Adobe Illustrator
  • Panels & Workspaces in Adobe Illustrator
  • Artboards in Adobe Illustrator
  • Vector basics / Selection & Direct selection tool
  • Fill & Stroke effects in Adobe Illustrator
  • Using Colour / Swatches / Pantone’s / Gradients

Essential Practice

  • Creating shape vectors
  • Grouped vectors & Compounding vector shapes
  • Drawing with the Pen tool / Brush tool / Pencil tool & more
  • The Blob brush tool & Eraser tool
  • Type tools in Adobe Illustrator

Create a project

  • Setting up a document / Placing in a drawing / Sketch
  • Image trace tool for sketches in Adobe Illustrator
  • Tracing a hand drawn sketch & converting to vector artwork
  • Compounding vector shapes & strokes / Pathfinder Tool
  • Colouring a vector drawing in Adobe Illustrator
  • Adding type to a poster design in Adobe Illustrator
  • Exporting ready for print in Adobe Illustrator

Submission:

  • 4 Compositions using primitives and objects.
  • 4 Conceptual Compositions (landscape, cityscape, environment design)
  • 2 Typography Design
